Ben Horobin // UK Interior Designer

Housing Technical Officer
Ben helped prepare plans for means of escape and schedules of works, with respect to disrepair. He also prepared specification and schedules for individual Renovation Grants, Group Repair and Facelift Schemes. Whilst here I found him to be a very willing and pleasant individual. He showed great interest in the schemes he was shown and asked appropriate questions. It is my belief that he will be a good team member and an asset to any company that employs him.

Design Engineer
Ben is skilled in CAD design, Research and has great Interpersonal skills. Ben proved to be a helpful member of the team who picked up well on the job at hand. It was with regret that we were not able to extend Bens temporary employment but due to general market conditions this has not been possible. If and when we are able to consider new employees Ben would be at the top of our list. I consider that Ben consistently achieved good results and delivered to our expectations.

CAD Technician
Drawing up electrics drawings for sites and engineers. Doing site visits, liaising with other staff members and engineers. Writing out method statements. Chasing up delivers and producing quality drawings for clients. Going to site and measuring up, doing site surveys.

Design Engineer
Sourcing of materials and products to specific specifications. Liaison with site engineers. Design of new products. Cad engineering of systems. Design Air vents for commercial projects such as residential, hotels Shopping centres. Drawing up quotas for new and old clients. Quantity surveyor, writing out method statements, chasing up delivers producing high quality CAD detailed drawing for the client, Sorting Out workmen too work on different sites across the UK. Working close with other companies, hitting tight deadlines. Keeping cost too budget. Writing out new method statements for each new job we take on.

Housing Technical Officer
Surveys which included houses of Multiple occupation, self contained flats single households. Help prepare plans for means of escape and schedules of work, with respect to disrepair. I also prepared specifications and schedules for individual Renovation Grants, Group Repair and Facelifts Schemes. I worked close with leading officers of the council. Towards the end of my time I was heavily involved with several redundant properties which are due for demolition.

Designer
Working within a small team, hitting tight deadlines, working with other team members within the company. Producing high quality detailed drawings and visuals for client presentation, Working with Auto cad, 3D Studio Max and Adobe Photoshop.

Interior Designer/Cad Technician
Designing hotel apartments in Manchester, producing visuals, drawings and specifications. Working on a site making sure deadlines were being met. Working on own initiative. Communicating well with colleagues in China was essential to make sure furniture shipments were correct and on time for the completion of the projects.

2:1 BA (Hons) Interior Design
Over the three years I spent at University I completed a number of different Modules, which included a range of professional application of Interior Design, Such as Film and TV set Design. Office Design, Exhibitions, Restaurants, Detail Design, and Hotel Design.

In my spare time I enjoy all sports, walking my dog and I am a member of the Pugin society. I also help out down at my local rugby club teaching young kids to play rugby.
